Tom's experience

My interest in homeownership started early. I wanted to own a home by age 22, so I became a licensed Realtor in 1988 and bought my first home that same year. Since then, I’ve worked through multiple real estate cycles across Virginia, gaining firsthand experience with changing markets, shifting buyer and seller priorities, and the importance of making sound decisions.

Over the years, I’ve also built and operated businesses outside of real estate. That entrepreneurial background, combined with my experience in residential construction and remodeling, gives me a practical perspective on property value, maintenance, repairs, and preparing homes for sale. Whether I’m helping someone buy their first home, sell a property, evaluate an investment, or find a tenant, I look beyond the transaction to understand what makes sense for the client.

I personally handle nearly 50 rental transactions each year, along with residential sales and other property-related services. I understand that real estate involves more than pricing and paperwork. It takes communication, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to solve problems as they arise.

I’ve chosen not to join a team where clients can be passed from one person to another. When you work with me, you work directly with me. I stay involved, answer your questions, and remain accountable throughout the process.
